when i was like 6 or 7, my neighbors and i would play in the yard and when a car would go by we would all scream "car!" and hide behind something. if you didnt have something to hide behind then you would play dead. haha idk why we did this but everyone that drove by prolly thought it odd to have so many dead kids in the yard :D

I used to believe that if you walked around while on the telephone, the place where the person on the other end of the line would move around. One day, while on the phone with my Grandfather, I started jumping up and down and asked if his house was shaking.

i used to believe that if you removed those "do not remove" tags on mattresses that the FBI would come crashing through the windows of my house and arrest me.
When i was about five i use to always hear a commerical that said... "If you have a phone, you have a lawyer." Now i had no idea what a lawyer was but everytime i went to a family members house and noticed they had a phone, i would tell them " hey since you have a phone, you have a lawyer!"

I used to believe that when chairs weren't being used and noone was around them then they came alive and played amongst themselves.
Our bathtub drain didn't have the little metal strainer in it, it was just a hole. It made this horrible sound when draining, it got worse as the water level dropped.
When I was 4 or 5, my older brother came into the bathroom just as I pulled the plug. He told me that sharks could come up into the tub since we didn't have the strainer in there. I remember telling him he was full of it, but I never pulled the plug again until I was out of the tub.
Now I tell my kids that the strainer is there to prevent shark attacks.
when i was younger, and was afraid of the dark, i thought that if right after i turned the light off, i didnt get on my bed quick enough, that a monster would nibble at my feet

My mother used to tell us that if we incessantly rang the doorbell, it would make the house burn down in a fire.

i used to believe that mirrors were a portal to another world and the only reason we cant get in is because our parallel selves are stopping us.
When I was a kid, my mom didn't want me to get burnt by hot water so she told me "always turn on cold water first, never hot water first!"
So I asked her: "Will it explode if I turn on hot water first?"
And she answered - probably absentmindedly- "yes!"
I never ever ever ever ever turned on the hot water tap first! XD Even now - I'm 22 - I would feel strange doing so!
But I never got burnt anyway so thank you mom!
When I was young, I thought ninjas lived under my bed and whenever I walked on the floor, it would throw a ninja star at me and slice off my feet so I would have to use a wheelchair. For a few months I just jumped from the end of my bed into the hallway, but one day I had to get up but my legs were too sore to jump, so I had to walk on my floor and no ninjas came and then I wasn't scared
my sister told me that you can't go to to the toilet during a thunderstorm, because you would die when you pee. and i totally believed it until i was like 11 years old.
As a kid, I used to believe that if I had a photo of someone, the person or people in the photo could possibly, in the right circumstances, or if they were concentrating, see or hear whatever was in view of the photo of their frozen gaze, even though I'd never heard of or been told such a thing. Even in books, and even if the person was fictional, they or SOMEONE would be able to see me. So I would never change clothes in front of a photo, and I refused to have any photos of anyone but me in my room. My parents thought it was odd (and maybe a little narcissistic - but following my logic, what had I to fear from a photo of myself? I already knew what I looked like naked). I've never told them WHY I was uncomfortable around photos.
It probably is weird... I'm almost 30 now, and I still don't tend to have any photos of people in my room, as an adult.
when i was a kid (like everyone) i used to believe that people in 1950s (and before) they lived in black and white (like old tv)so life was black and white.
I thought as a kid that zombies were just blue people with raggedy clothes, long nails, and messy black hair. So when I'd be in bed laying down (at the point where your head bobs back and forth when you're tired) I thought the bobbing was my bed actually moving. So what I imagined was that Skeletons and Zombies would pick up my bed and carry it around the world while i slept. But, If I woke up that they would drop the bed and I would be back in my room. So I would pretend like i was asleep so they would still carry me. I wasn't afraid of zombies or skeletons as a kid so it was sort of fun to imagine. When my grandma would ask me how I slept every Saturday morning, I would tell her China and England were nice lol. She could never figure out what I was talking about and died never knowing.
When I was five or six I saw an episode of the Twighlight Zone tv show in which a little girl somehow fell, without any warning, right through her ordinary-seeming bedroom wall and into the foggy and horribly scary fourth dimension! From that point forward I was very careful not to touch or lean against bedroom walls and of course would never, ever fall asleep too close to one.
I used to believe that paper was 2D because it was so flat once I learned what the second dimension was.
I used to be super scared of the bathroom and mirrors because my sister told me to watch bloody mary
I used to beleive there was a ghost in my closet, but one night as i was getting changedi opened it and it was just my dad with a camera, then it went black and i woke up with a sore bum.
