when i was about 4 or 5, my family told me that opening the door to the coal cellar it would cause an explosion... i believed it and stayed away, although i'd have LOVED to go in. Later on I realised they only said that to keep me from playing in there and making a huge black mess.

I used to believe that the toilet flushed into hell and that if you were sitting on it when it flushed, the devil would grab you by the butt and pull you in.

i used to believe that i hosted my own reality show to people living inside mirrors. when something good would happen, i would say "and thats how you get that done" and when something bad would happen i would be ashamed and not look in any mirrors, knowing i'd dissapointed my fans.

When my mom would see me doing something dangerous or something that could end up badly, like leaning on open window or trying to get knife, she would tell me a story of a little girl who did the exactly same thing as me, and it would always end up badly.

I would always pity that little girl for all the hurtful things she experienced so far and wonder how she always ends up alive

When i was little i was always afraid of flushing the toilet. O thought there was a monster that would come up and bite your but, and in public restrooms in the regular stalls its was hard to turn around and look so id run out as fast as possible

As a little kid,I was told that if I sleep with my leg stretched out,the wicked which who lives under my bed would reach out and grab my leg n pull me down.
The witch who lived under the tub would do the same if I bathed for too long.

To this day,I sleep curled up in bed n take short showers. I'm 25 now. Yes, I swear!

when I was very little I thought a monster lived down in the pipes under the toilet. Whenever I finished I had to get out of the bathroom as quickly as I could, because when I flushed all that pee or poop down onto his head he would come out and attack me.

when i was young i believed that Bert and Ernie from sesame street somehow was menacingly staring at me when i took a bath. Gave me a terrible fear of the bathtub.

when i was younger,
i believed that at night, the yip-yip aliens from sesame street and scraggly hobos looked at me through my window that hung over my bed, something terrible lived behind my ceiling tall dollhouse, and numerous things ready to grab my legs lived under my bed.
But when i ran to my parents bed for protection i was sure they had turned into crazy zombie/escaped convicts. So i would stay at the edge of there bed petrified with fear.

I used to think that the stars were going to shoot laser beams at me if I passes too close to the window. My mom could'n understand why on some nights, when the stars looked 'scary" I huddled in my armchair and would not pass the window.

When I was around 8 I had to beliefs. one of them was that I was afraid to leave my hand off the bed because I had just heard the "humans can lick too." story and still today I am scared of that and for a while I couldn't take showers unless my sister had one first because I saw the movie "Cabin Fever" and thought my skin would start desolving from a flesh eating virus.

I used to believe that doorways were evil. And there was one corner at the end of the hallway that was even more viscious. Each doorway in my house had it's own horrible monster. I was particualarly scared of the white fluffball and the bald phantom man. The corner at the end of the hallway was the worse. There was a dead girl with a green face and black and yellow eyes that would peak around, and I would wake up screaming because I was so little that if I dreamt or saw the corner it looked real to me. Now when I think about it, it is kind of embarrassing.

i used to believe that you could just walk into a mirror to the other world on the other side... but every time i tried it didnt work! i couldnt figure out how everything was in the mirror and why i couldnt go in it... today i still want to go inside a mirror! how awesome would that be!?!?

i believed that the bathroom was more magical than any other room in the house... so when i was little i would lock my self in the bathroom (away from my brothers) and i would fill up the sink with water to have pool parties with my dolls. i would pretend they were mermaids...

I remember the first time that I looked in a mirror and realized, "Hey, that's what I look like!"

I called the monsters under my bed "burglars" and it was a group of five men who were dressed in all black like ninjas. They only showed up at night, had to stay under the bed but could reach thier arms out to grab me if I walked by or dangled a leg or arm off. I also had to run and jump past my bed if I ever had to get up at night.
How I got over this fear? I stuffed so much stuff under my bed so that they couldn't possibly fit under there anymore.

After seeing the part of Jurassic Park where the man gets eaten in the bathroom I thought that if I went to the bathroom alone at night a T-rex head would come through the window and eat me. Why only at night, I don't know.

Our toilet sometimes makes this noise that sounds like water running so when I was little and I'd hear that noise I thought a ghost was peeing in our toilet.

I used to believe that sequins grew on trees-- when I was small I refused to wear sequined clothing. I now know the truth, however, I still don't like wearing sequins. :)
