i used to think that when i was in the bath if i made too much noise a shark would eat me and and once i heard a bang underneath the bathtub and i jumped out completly naked and ran into the street thinking the shark was trying to get through (i was 4 and i never told my mum until that incident) and my mother father and sister almost peed themselves laughing at me standing in the front garden soaking wet and covered in shampoo i wasn't finding it funny telling them to hurry up before the shark ate them ... they just laughed harder i now see the funny side lol i was a strange child

Back when I was about 8 or 9, I thought that if I listened hard enough, I could hear my parents through the vents. I still try whisper to my family using them.

Once when I was little I heard my dad referring to somebody as being "in the closet" and thought they really were locked inside of a closet somewhere and couldn't get out.
Then I met the guy in question and his boyfriend, and everything got cleared up.

I used to think that there was a whole other world behind the mirror that was just like ours, only way more exiciting. Oh, and my reflection was my twin.
i probably fell asleep, and i dreamt a lion in my room, everything was realistic in dream so i haven`t realize when i woke up, so i just started running to tell my mom that there is a lion in the room. i believed for many years later that the lion was really there.

when i was younger, i liked to go around barefoot. then my mom told me if i keep going around barefoot, i would get worms in my feet. then she pointed to the veins in my feet and i totally thought i had worms.
When I was like 6, I used to look at myself in the mirror , and wonder if the mirror was "lying" to me, and if that was really what I looked like. So almost every time I would my mom what I looked like, every time she said the same thing- short w/brown hair, round cute nose, brown eyes, and lots of freckles. For some reason I never believed her though, and i thought she was just on the mirror "SIDE" so every time I passed the mirror I yelled LIAR. I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS LIKE DIFFERENT LOOKING!
I was a strange child- LOL
when I was about 4, I used to think that on Black Friday, everything would actually turn black. A half a year ago I got a pair of white boots which I thought were the ugliest things, but I would have loved them black. I woke up on Black Friday and was very disappointed to see that they were still white.
Growing up, there was a crawl space above our house with nothing in it. We never stored anything up there, there was no light, it was just a tiny, dusty space above the house that nobody ever went in. When I first discovered that we had a crawl space, I asked my mom why it was that we didn't use it and she gave me a vague, "I don't know, we just don't." I took this to mean that she was concealing some deep dark secret and after much thinking and staring up at the little square in the hall ceiling which lead to the crawl space, concluded that my parents had a fourth child that they never told my sisters and I about -- they simply hid him in the crawl space, only giving him food when their other children were asleep. Somehow I decided that his name was Hugo and would occasionally use the broom handle to open the little crawl space door and announce to "Hugo" that I knew the truth about him.
My brother had a stamp of two little feet - foot prints, and I guess one day while I was not in my room he went and stamped them all over my closet door. I honestly believed there was a little man living in my closet... looked for him all night and day. lol
My best friend and I used to believe that there was a little green man who lived inside the toilet and would eat your poop! My fear of him was so great that I would sit backwards on the toilet so I could watch and make sure he wasn't there. I stopped that when I was maybe 10. I still retain a fear of the loud flushing sound a toilet makes- I make sure flushing is the last thing I do before I leave the bathroom... though I don't generally admit it.
When i was little, like 5 or 6, i beleved in every closet in the house had big headed family members that came out every friday nightthey came out and ate you. So one friday night, i was in my room, and when i fell aslep, i woke up in the middle of the night. I looked at the closet and a big headed verson of my dad came out. Then he started talking. He was very nice. Then i woke up. and my mom was standing there. it was the weirdest dream ever!!!

One of my friends used to believe that when children are grounded they get locked in their room and a toilet grew in the room.
I used to believe my attic was a black hole because my mother would alway tell me to be careful around it, and my siblings house told stories about things getting stuck up there. When I was little I used to run really fast alongt the edge of the hallway so i woudnt get sucked up!
When I was a little girl, our water heater only gave us about 10 min worth of hot water to take a shower/bath. Well one time I was taking a shower and the hot water ran out. I was really upset because I wasn't finished. So my logic was if hot water turned cold, the cold water must turn hot. So I sat in the tub with the cold water running. I can assure you that it never got hot, not even remotly warm. I was all pruned up and my lips were blue by the time I figured that out.
