when i was wee, the toilet in our old house was really loud when you flushed it. i used to think every time you flushed it, witches and crocodiles and vampires and spooky stuff like that would come out and eat you. this meant that everytime i flushed the toilet, i had to run down stairs really fast. one day i fell down the stairs after flushing the toilet, and i assumed a crocodile had tripped me up, because i hadnt ran fast enough. i believed this until i was 8.

When I was 4 I used 2 believe that there were goblins in the air vent in the bathroom. I thought I would flush real fast and get out or they would bring me down and me.

When I was little I didn't understand how I could move my head in the mirror but my eyes would stay in the same place (looking at the mirror)

My mom told me that I needed more sleep!

When I was about 8, I though that if someone flushed the toilet when you were in the shower, the water would turn off and never come back on. I am now 29, and my son is afraid of someone flushing the toilet when he's in the shower!

When I was small like around 8 I used to believe that the other sid of the mirror was a diffrent world and the person standing there (which was me) was just a twin.

After watching ET film when I was 3, I used to close my cuoboard at night Because I was scary and I used to believe ET could be in my cupboard.

As kids, and to this day, my mom was/is a NEAT FREAK. A single dirty dish in the sink qualified as a kitchen of astronomically filthy proportions. Well, as it goes with most parents, we were not allowed to play outside or watch TV until we had cleaned up our room. At 8, 5 minutes is an eternity and surely you can't expect an 8 year old to spend an eternity cleaning their room when Power Rangers is on?! So my sister and I would push everything underneath our beds and race right out of there. Well, my mother was NOT having it. As a result, she told us that giant, flesh-eating cockroaches lived under our beds and LOVED large messes. In the middle of the night when we were sound asleep, they would sneak out from underneath and chew our precious little faces off. After THIS news, my sister and I decided to destroy the alien cockroach habitat underneath our beds and never, EVER allow so much as a speck of dust anywhere near the bedroom.

Yet another example of their fine parenting skills.

when i was younger, me and my brother would alwaysss play Twister (the game when u spin the hand thing and you have to put ur foot/hand on the differnet colors) and he would always say that if i cheated or if i did something wrong it would somehow push one of the colors(i thought they were buttons!) and it would open you and i would fall down into a pit or something =[

I kind of jumped to a conclusion on this one, but until I was 8, this is what i though: Do you know those sattelite and phone towers with the blinking red lights? I used to think they were missiles and thats why they put the fences around them. I moved to a house that was near one when I was 7 and i cried because my room was the closest to the tower, I thought it would explode and blow up my room.

When I was really young I would get mad at anything that I ran into. If I ran into a wall or piece of furniture, I'd kick it back, as if it was it's fault, not mine. I would say something like "the wall hit me!" Or "stupid wall!" The habit got passed on to my friend and she once stuck her tongue out at a bar above the slide that she bumped into.

One of my friends who used to live in Japan told me a story ( I was 14 then, I think ) about monsters called "Kyoma Demons" that live in mirrors and look just like you, but if you turn your back they show their true form and emerge from the mirror to grab you and pull you into an alternate universe, and you would be trapped in the mirror while they lived your life. I still find it hard to go to the bathroom without a wrench, hammer, or some other blunt object to defend myself.

I used to believe that thing in the sink (I don't know what it's called, it's like this hole halfway up that water drains into if the sink gets too full) had an alien living in it, and if I put my hands in the sink it would pop out and eat my arms.

i used to think that if you looked into a mirror at night a ghost would come out and kill you and pull you into someone else's mirror to kill them

i have dreams that seem very real to me. when i was young i was having a conversation with my mom and brother it was one of those "hey do you remember when...." conversations.. everyone laughed at me when i asked "Hey do you remember when the goodyear blimp crashed into our willow tree?~!?" i was crushed when they told me it didnt happen

Me and my friend used to always play on my swing set. i thought that if i stood ontop of the slide and whispered into the big bolt ontop of the pole beside it my friend could here me by listening to the bolt beside the swing

Like most kids growing up, I believed there was an upside-down word on the other side of the mirror.
