As a child I was terrified of yetis (despite the fact I live in England and they don't) and I was certain that they lived at the bottom of my garden and in the cupboard under the stairs/other random places in my house. Whenever I went down the garden I would freak out and run back up it, screaming.
This belief was shared by my twin sister, as was the idea that, if you flushed the toilet, the yetis would come running (though I have no idea why they would do that or what they'd do when they got there).

When I was little (5....maybe 6.....) I used to believe that, within darkness under my bed, an evil old woman lived. Every night I had to avoid facing the edge of the bed or she would appear and (of all things) eat my face. I believed firmly that her motive for doing this was that she was jealous because I was younger and prettier than her and wanted to hurt me because of it. To protect myself from her, my favourite stuffed dog always 'slept' infront of me, not because he had any special protective powers, but so that, should the woman appear, she wouldn't see me.
I remember her face vividly in my over active imagination. She has a deathly pale, wrinkled, slightly swollen face and blind eyes. Her white hair is matted and dusty and she has row upon row of razor sharp teeth.
Weirdly I recently discussed this with my twin sister and, despite the fact that we never discussed the woman, we both believed that she existed. Rather scarily, we both imagined her in the same way and doing the same thing.....sometimes I wonder if there is/was a woman under my bed.......

My back of my bed had buttons which I thought when I had a nightmare that I could "change" the channel on the dream.

When I first started going to pre-school everything was very strange and new. The bathroom had one of those sinks that is basically a big tub with streams that fan out in a semi-circle. You would turn it on by stepping on a bar that was on the floor. I had never experienced this type of sink before. The teacher would tell us to go wash our hands before our snack. All the kids would run in and crowd around this sink. There would always be kids there before me to press on the bar. So I never understood how the sink turned on. I didn't see any handles or knobs. I thought of lots of differant solutions. Maybe the bathroom had a motion camera like the doors at the super market. I also thought that maybe the teacher would press a button that would turn the sink on and off. It wasn't until i started grade school when there wasn't kids always crowded around it that i discovered the bar on the floor.

when i was young, my mon always didn't allow me to put up umbrella under roofs because it will make me become shorter and shorter. really? i remember i still believed in it when i was in junior high...haha, funny...maybe that's the reason i don't like umbrella...lol

When I was a toddler I kept trying to put my fingers in the electrical outlets, so my mother would always tell me "no no Anna." I thought all electrical outlets were called "no nos" until I was about seven.

I used to believe that the person on the other side of the mirror was a fragment of my imagination.

I believed that there was a gay person in my closet because I heard someone on the TV say:
"While that god-damn gay get out of the closet already"

My mother usually don't do the washing up right away and leaves the dishes to soak, I used to believe the things that were washed right away weren't as clean as things that had soaked or even thing that had been left in a pile by the sink over night. I still don't like eating of plates there have been washed right after use.

When I was little I believed that when it grew dark, monsters would appear under my bed. I would always check that my bed was pushed right up against the wall so that no monsters could crawl up the wall and eat me while I slept, and I would always jump very quickly onto my bed, so that they couldn't grab my ankles, and dive under the covers at bedtime.

When i was younger i used to believe there was a gremlin that lived under my bed and if i hung my feet over the edge in the morning he would grab me and pull me under the bed and turn me into a gremlin. I also used to believe that if i left my feet uncovered in bed the gremlin would tickle them befoe cutting my toes off while i was asleep... i still have the habit of tucking the duvet over and under my feet to make sure they are 'protected'

When I was young my mum told me that wants if you put the key in water it wont open, I had that thing in mind till this year when I ask my friend is it true.

After I grew out of having an imaginary friend I would look into the miror and pretend my reflection was me in a different dimension and me and my reflection were best friends, Id sit and talk to my reflection and slap the miror thinking I was giving my reflection a high-five.

Years ago i used to look into this miror and focus on the pupils of my eyes, somehow i got it in my head that if you looked deeply into your pupil in a miror you could see yourself as a grown-up walking around inside.

I was a disturbing child sometimes, i was cmpletely conviced a man was under my bed wit a HUGE knife and if I lied on my back he would stick it through my matress and, well... ya know, stab me... my bed was up against a wall so i would sleep on my side right up against the wall so his knife would be more likely to miss me...

When I was little I was lying in bed when i saw my closet door was open and to my horror, I saw a lion, it was a T-shirt that was all crumpled up and thrown in there, I was horrified and I screamed my head off until my aunt came in to see what was wrong. I pointed to the closet and screamed "A LION!" She turned on the light and it was just a t-shirt but i wasnt so easily conviced, anyone who's read Kujo knows how i felt, there was a lion in there and he wanted to eat me, he may have fooled my aunt but I was smarter then that. I didnt sleep until it was bright out, everyone knows evil lions are afraid of the sun. :P

My stuffed animals would often fall of of my bed, and roll beneath. I'd always retrieve my stuffed animals in the morning because I believe that, if I didn't, they'd come out later and seek revenge...

[_[ I still don't like to leave stuffed animals beneath my bed...

In my house, there's a big black tank thing in the basement (I think it's an oil tank or something). I used to think it was a cow.

Okay so their is this statue of a baby in my yard. For some reason, I thought it was Amielia Airheart. I thought she had crashed into my yard and then turned to stone.
