I used to believe there was a "toilet monster" that would suck me down the toilet if I sat on the toilet while flushing it, even with a toilet seat. So I made sure to get off the toilet before I flush it, and when I accidently flushed it before getting off, I would run and start screaming!

We would scream whenever our parents put one of us on the toilet when we had to go, we would take our pull up off and pee or poop all over the floor, it was frustrating for my parents.
When I was younger my brothers and sisters, total 9 kids, we were told we couldn't go in the swimming pool after we ate for 45 minutes and the only way we could we had to do laps around the yard, we had 7 acres, if we didn't we would get stomach cramps and drown, ever night we did laps around the yard, come to think of that I still believe that today. I wonder if that's really true lol I'm gonna have to look that up on the Internet

I was convinced that the water from the hot tap (the cold was fine) was highly poisonous, and that if you drank it you'd die. And I sort of still do!
I used to think that mirrors were recording devices that made videos of you, rather like a video camera. I used to do lots of posing in mirrors, but not because it made me feel pretty- because I thought it would record a video of me and then giant people would watch it. I wanted to impress them!

When I was little, I read too much narnia and a friend of mine lied to me and told me that we were from narnia so I thought I should go there. I decided narnia was under my bed so I crawled under there and thought that if I crawled against the wall long enough, I would pop into narnia. It never worked :(

When I was really small, maybe 4, my mother told me to be careful when bathing because " even George Washington slipped and fell in the bathtub ". I have no idea where this silly belief originally came from, but I believed my mother. I even fleshed it out so to speak in my imagination- George Washington was always standing up in a modern bathtub, naked but wearing his wig, and then suddenly he throws up his arms, yells " whoops!" and down he goes with a big splash. Then I imagined a female voice off stage so.to speak exclaiming "George, George are you all right?" ( Martha of course). It was so real to me.I was very careful in the tub.Years later I asked my mom where she had gotten the George Washington in the bathtub story and she looked at me like I'd lost my mind and said "they didn't even HAVE bathtubs in those days!" I don't know if that's true, but she seemed very sure that George in the bathtub had never been discussed.Years later, she admitted that the story had come from her own mother, who had also denied ever telling it.Generational amnesia, or just generational denial? All I know is that if I ever have a daughter, I will teach her bathtub safety without George Washington and his soggy wig.
I used to beleieve I was small enough to be caught up by bathtub drain and I used to run away when the drain was open.
My Fears

In my imagination and it would have human form, red eyes, huge nails, crease hand and a scary- looking that even today I can not imagine in detail.
The Ceiling
When I was a kid I used to think that monsters lived on the roof of my house, that there for my 8, 9 years. My parents said it was only the ceiling plaster crackling, but I did not believe I was sure were monsters and so hated being alone at home.
At bedtime I was fidgeting on the bed, because the snaps listened and thought were the steps of the monsters coming to get me and covered me with the whole cover, afraid to open his eyes and he was looking at me.
