When I was little I used to believe there were evil penguins living under my bed who would attack me if i got out at night. So whenever I had to use the bathroom I would run across my bed, jump into the hall (the door was at the foot of my bed) and run all the way to the bathroom. I have no idea where I got that idea from till this day.

When I was little I use to think that at night, alligators would live under your bed and try to grab your ankles if you would try to hop into bed. So if i had to go to the bathroom I would jump off my bed (i had to land at least a foot away) and when I came back from the bathrooms I would jump onto my bed from the floor and I could not be to close to the bed or they would grab me & bring me to thier secret alligator world and eat me. I still get scared sometimes to this day! 8D

When I was about 5, i thought that there were monsters ON TOP of my bed. I was so scared that when my parents went to sleep, I crawled under my bed so the monsters couldn't get me.

when i was little, i shared a bed with my older sister, Janelle. I would always kick off the covers so she told me that if my feet were uncovered, i'd get eaten by the floor demons like our brother "Stephen". (We never had a brother named Stephen.) She told me they we on holiday, visiting their cousins the wall trolls, and they loved to snack on little toes. I was so traumatized that i still curl the covers under my feet!

I used to believe that there were vampires under my bed. I always ran and took a flying leap into bed so that they couldn't grab me before my "army" of stuffed animals could protect me.

When I was young, I was terrified of JAWS. I used to think that when I was in bed, if my leg or arm was hanging off the side, JAWS would jump out of the ocean drag me into the water and eat me. I lived in Philadelphia at the time.

i believed when i was about 6 that there was a monster under my bed and i would check it every night. One night i had a dream and i dreamt i looked under my bed and this big long hairy monster was looking at me and i wouldn't sleep in my bed for 3 weeks. I even did a test by putting food under my bed and see if a monster ate it. I woke up the next day and it had been eaten but now i realize it was probably my dog...

When I was a kid I used to believe my Blanket was undestroyable and I would be safe of any threat just as long as I was fully covered by it!

When I was a young man in the mid eighties, my family and I had 1 cable channel, HBO. In the summer of around 1985 I watched the movie "Poltergeist" over and over for over a month. The scene where the young boy in the family is attacked by a stuffed clown doll and pulled under the bed scared me so much that to this day when I turn in for sleep at night I must check under the bed to ensure the clown is not waiting there to pull me under, and I'm 31 now.

i used to believe that there was a monster named Eliza in my blankets, so i alway slept on the floor. Except Eliza had a husband who liked to sleep under the bed and bite the heads off of little girls while singing, "Im A Little Tea Pot". So i ended up sleeping on my couch, except Eliza and her horrible Teapot hus band had a slightly bi-polar cousin who like going tinto my fridge during the night and eat all of the milk, thats why i never had any for my cereal. THen, I slept in the bathroom except the slightly bi-polar cousin had a friend named Albert who was mentally disabled and every time you turned on the lights he would scream, "BAH!!!!!!" So i ended up sleeping in the middle hallway, but came to a conslusion that when i was there they could all get to me. So now, i stay up all night and read fairy0tales to soothe my fears of the lamp.
and thats how i leanred the meaning of life.

I used to believe that there were popcorn balls under my bed because I thought that they were the same thing as moth balls. So one night, I crawled under my bed and got out the box of them and crawled out. I was about to put one in my mouth when my mom came in and took them away.

I once beleived that in bed at night (I was afraid of the dark) there was a glass sheild over your bed to protect you from all the scary monsters/ghosts. I also believed that there really WAS a monster under my bed, and any body parts that went over the edge of the bed would be eaten by the monster.

I believed that a great white shark, like the one from Jaws, swam below the carpet at the foot of my bed. For years, I slept with my legs pulled tight to my chest. This way, if he decided to jump up and devour my bed, my legs would be intact and I could run for help.

I used to believe that green scaly goblins with long hairless arms lived under my bed, and would reach out to grab me if I got too close. I would run and jump into bed at night. One morning I was making my bed, and my cat reached out from under the bed and grabbed my ankle with both her paws, and I almost teleported I ran away so fast.

When I was about 5, I saw a Chunkie movie. My mom loved china dolls, so my room had a collection of them. I wouldn't go to sleep because I was scared my dolls would come alive and try to kill me. The funny thing is, that I though the monster under my bed was jack, from the night before christmas and that he fought the dolls when I was asleep to protect me....

I used to believe that the monsters under my bed could only see shapes, not actual things. So at night I would pile a bunch of stuffed animals at one end of the bed, and they lie out as flat as possible on the other end, hoping the monsters would eat my toys and not me!
