bad habits

I used to believe…

When I use to eat my boogers I knew that it was wrong and that it was an embarrassing habit. I thought that if I ever had an x-ray that the doctor was going to be able to see the boogers in my stomach and scorn me. I had a plan that I would just say they were pieces of cheerios cereal.

I used to think you could get high by smoking oregano and that you made cigarettes with ordinary paper, I tried making one and it made me feel really sick I was a teen at the time.
I now smoke real cigarettes so it didn't put me off smoking altogether.

I used to believe that sticking my finger up my nose made me invisible and I was so angry at this girl who sat behind me because she had super-powers that allowed her to see me.

i have sucked my thumb all of my life and i think i always will (13 now) but i used to belive by this age i would not have a thumb i thought it would shrivel up and eventurely disappear but i still carried on sucking it.

my mom used to tell me that if i didn't stop biting my nails i'd be left with a finger with no nail. i was so grossed out that i didn't even nibble at my nail 0_o

I used to think that if i wasnt picking my nose (which was a habit of mine until i became eight) there were little dwarven miners, looking for snot. (what in the world was i thinking?!?!?) I got this belief when my my caught me picking my nose and said "Oi, looking for gold, Stevie?"

Growing up, my older brother told me that eating my boogers would make strong like Popeye. During dinner he would pick his own boogers & trade me. My desert for his "freshly picked" nose gummies. Mmmmmm. To this day I don't eat any kinds deserts. But strangely, I sometimes have cravings for a freshly picked one.

MY friend used to tell me if you picked your nose you would pick right through and there would be a hole in the back of your head

Everyone on mi family for generations had always been told that if u pick ur nose your eye balls will fall out. And ever since I've stoped I tell everyone that this will happen when i see them doing it.

When i was in the 8th grade someone asked me if i smoked reefer and i thought it was a new brand of cigarettes. I smoked cigarettes at the time so i just said yeah.

when I was little my dad always used to ask if i was digging for gold when he saw me picking my nose. I thought there was gold up my nose until months later my dad told me that there was no gold up my nose. i was really disapointed.

When i was really young, I was a nose picker. My dad saw me doing it one day and said "If you keep picking your nose, the Pick Your Nose Guy will come." I then asked who the Pick Your Nose Guy was and he said that he was a monster disguised as an elderly man who would chase after me if he saw me doing it. I totally believed that for like 2 or 3 years!!

My mother told me that sucking my thumb would turn it and my tounge green. I never sucked my thumb again.

When my sister was little, she used to suck her thumb. My mom and dad tried to get her out of the habit, so my older sister and I figured we'd help... and give her nightmares.
We told her a story about a man who sucked his thumb and about how he was homeless because nobody liked him for it. We told of how one day, he had to go to the hospital beacuse his thumb started bleeding and how it fell off. Everday, we would add on to the story of this man's thumb. To this day, she won't even look at her thumb.
