I used to think that if you unscrewed your belly button (naval), your bum (butt) would drop off.
Also I had a teacher who used to yell at unsuspecting kids in the class "Don't pick your nose, your eyes will drop out". Truely terrifying. When I used to see those kids who had spectacles with a plaster over one of the lenses, I thought that they had been picking their noses too much.

my dad always used to tell me if i picked my nose i would get a big hole in my face.
I used to suck my thumb horribly, until my mother told me about the thumb snipper who would cut off my thumbs if he saw me doing it.
Being a nervous, gullible cild I immediately stopped - and instead I used to suck on my little finger. Aftter all, the thumb snipper only snipped thumbs! I still do that now when I'm thinking about something.

When i was little i picked my nose, and my sister said that if you picked it you would get a blood clod in your brain. I still picked it, but then once while i was in bed i thought about what i had done to my brain and started crying.

Well when i was little i sucked my thumb until i was about four then i stopped. Then i started in kindergarten again because my best friend (stll!) did. Then my sister said that your thumb wouldn't grow anymore and would shrink! I stopped sucking my thumb and told my mom, and she told me she sucked her thumb until she was 11!

when my sister was little she used to pick her nose. my mom told her one day that if she kept picking her nose her head was going to cave in. ever sense then she hasnt picked her nose once out of fear that her head would cave in.
I thought that when you bit your nails, and if you swallowed them, there was a little box at the back of your neck where they were stored. If you bit them too much, the box would explode, and that was why I thought you shouldn't bite your nails.

when i was a kid , i told my little sister one day as she picked her nose THAT the more she picked out the boogahs ,....the FASTER new ones would grow ,...and eventually she would have to be pickin' her nose as a full time job just to keep breathing !

When my friend caught me biting my nails, she said that a few years ago, a girl died because she bit her nails and skin on her fingers and swallowed them. They got stuck in her throat and fomed a huge ball that she choked on and made her die. I didn't beleive her but sometimes when i bite my nails, I think about what she told me and stop straight away; but it doesn't always work!

When I was little, I would always wake up with snot in my nose. I thought that in the night a guy would come in my house and stick boogers up my nose.

When I was about 9 my grandpa would tell me not to pick my nose...except he said it in russian (i knew russian) but there were to ways to say pick a he used the one that sounded most like "picking a scab" so whenever he said to sopt picking my nose, I would get scared thinking that it would start bleeding and never did it again.

When I was about 3 or 4, I remember being in the car with my Dad on the freeway. I turned toward the window so my dad wouldn't see me picking my nose, and durning the action, a trucker passed by and saw me digging for gold. I was terrified that he was going to report me to the cops!

i used to bite my nails when i was little. my friend told me that if i did, my nails would eventually stop growing back. (keep in mind she was in 2nd grade) i was scared, but kept biting my nails.
