I used to suck my thumb until i was 7 yrs old. my mommy and daddy told my that if i didn't stop my thumb would fall off and i would only have 9 fingers and not 10. now my thumb is all wrinkly and looks different from the other one! I think while i was sleepin my mom put somethin on my thumb and when i woke up i stopped that habit!

My mom had convinced me that smoking and drinking are the worst thing in the whole world. So, when i was about 10, i overheard my sister talking to a friend and describing how she got drunk the previous Saturday (she was 17 then). I didn�t say anything but i totally freaked out. One week later, i found cigarettes on her closet. I couldnt help myself: i went straight to mum and told her my sister is becoming a tramp and soon she would die.
I always bit my nails when I was younger, until my grandfather caught me once and told me that all the nails were collecting in my stomach and would stay there forever until the ball got so big that it would cut through my stomach and the rest of my insides....
I stopped biting my nails.

when i was young i was told by my headteacher in an assembly that our nails had snakes eggs in tem and when you bite your nails they hatch inside you. i cried that night thinking that there was sakes inside me,my mother contacted the department of education and the headteacher got an official warning. the heads name was Mr.Nutter

When i was younger I thought my parents knew about my nose picking because they were watching me through a television! My other theory was that they were mind readers when they were actually in the same room when i was doing it!
I used to believe that cigarettes came in different flavors, but people had to lick them to taste it. I also believed that you blew into a cigarette instead of breathing in.

When I was at kindergarten age my mom used to tell me if I picked my nose that worms would grow in there. So every time I picked my nose I would suddenly think that the worms would come slither out my nose if I would continue on picking so with that thought I would stop immediately.

when i was little i used to pick my nose and eat my boogers ( i know... gross). One day my mom, aunt, and grandparents, and I went boating. I starting picking my nose and eating my boogers, my aunt caught me and told me that if i kept eating my boogers, worms would grow in my stomach! That definetly got me to stop eating my boogers....

one day i found my lil bro pickin his nose so i told him " if u pick your nose long enough u will get though to your brain and will die !! " so he pulled out his finger and said "really" so i told him "yea" and he walked off !

when i was 3 my mum told me that if i carried on bitting my nails they will fall off.i used to belive that then but now im 14 i no that they dont.

I heard a mother in the street tell her young son not to pick his nose...because his head would cave in.
I used to believe that men have to shave because they smoke cigarettes. (my dad used to smoke, mum -never!) I was surprised once seeing my non-smoking uncle shaving in the bathroom and a few days later I saw my friend's mother smoking.
I sucked my thumb until I was eleven years old. I only stopped because my father threatened to leave my family for another woman halfway around the world. i thought that if i had finally stopped, that he wouldn't go because both parents would become proud of me for kicking the habit. i also stopped because i learned that, when mixed with fluoride, sucking ur thumb does a number on your teeth. and trust me, it's not pretty.

once a girl in my class was picking her nose and my teacher made the whole class sit down and she told us that snot is tiny wee bugs too small for us to see and that when we breath in they get stuck on our nose hairs and they built up and make snot.so that when you're eating snot you're eating bugs.i believed it for years

When I was in fourth grade, my mom told me that if you bite your nails, you can get a very bad disease. I stopped biting my nails. I'm 16 now and still don't know if its true or not.
