When I was about 3 or 4, I was sitting in my mom's room picking my nose and eating my boogers. Well, my mom came up and said "Don't you know that if you pick your nose and eat your boogers, they collect in your stomach and sooner or later a big green worm will crawl out of your mouth?"
I still pick my nose (who doesn't) but that scared me into not eating them, that's for sure.

When I was little, I heard my mom telling my older brother that if he continued to suck his thumb, it would fall off, or become mis shaped, and that's why auntie didn't have one. i was terrified and never sucked my thumb!
I was taught that if i bit my nails that they would get down in my stomach and make my appendix burst. I still don't bite my nails and if i ever do I become very worried for hours.

When I graduated from preschool, we had to stand up at a podem, say our names and tell somthing about our family. Well i stood up there and declared, "My name is Heather and my mom is divorced and she smokes pot!" took a bow and left the stage. Well everyone was shocked. My mom never smoked pot, only ciggerets. I saw a anti- drug comercial where they showed a joint on tv, and i assumed thats what my mom smoked. My grandmother was there and all the parents of the school children. The day care workers told my mom that she shouldnt smoke pot in front of me. hahahhahah

I believed if I sucked on my thumb too long, or stayed in the bathtub for too long, I'd turn into a raisin. Thanks to my mother.

When I was younger I beleived that when you grew up, you smoked (probably because all of the adult around me did). I used to worry that I wouldn't know how to do it or that I wouldn't know how to hold a cigarette!

When I was about 4, I used to pick my nose alot and my dad told me that the boogers I pulled out were actually pieces of my brain. It scared me really bad and I was so sure I'd run out of brains and end up dead.

Once, when i was younger, i went with my parents to visit my uncle in the hospital. His friend was there, but his friend only had 2 or 3 fingers on each hand. He showed me his hands and said "This is what happens if you bite your nails!" Needless to say, i never bit my nails, out of fear of losing my fingers!
I always bit my nails really bad when I was little. One day my cousin, who is much older then I am, was at my house and seen me. He told me that there was poisen on my fingers and my fingernails and if I continued to bite them that the poisen would go down into my stomach and then spread throughout my body. He had me scared to death! I would forget what he said and bite my nails and then start crying cause I thought I was going to die.
I was told that if I picked my nose too much i could pick my brain out of my head.
I was also told that if I picked my nose and ate it I was eating little bits of my brain.

My cousin once told me that if i continued sucking my thmb (i was 6) that it would turn green i stopped pretty quickly after that. Bad luck 4 me although my thumb didnt fall off i had to have a plate to correct my jaw from sucking my thumb!!!!!!!!!
