bad habits

I used to believe…

When I was little I sucked my thumb until I went to the dentist and he told me that if I didn't stop, I'd have front teeth like Bugs Bunny. I believed him, and stopped sucking my thumb.

When my parents told me that my thumb would fall off it I kept sucking it...I NEVER believed it. In fact I kept sucking it and it never fell off. I did keep looking at it to see if it was getting thinner though.

My 4 yr old son believes that if he picks his nose his brains will come out.

To which he says to me "I got brains in my nose" (if it needs blowing) and if he manages to catch one on his finger its, "I got my brains" and shows me his finger.

i used to think that my dad turned into the boogie monster at night if i picked my nose before i went to bed

My grandma told me at a younge age that if I picked my nose and ate my boogers that they would turn into warms in my stomach. Talk about a good way to stop a nasty habit. I even tell this one to my child and my friends children. No booger eaters around here!

I used to believe that to get the right goodness for nails to be strong and healthy, was to eat the nails already there, the goodness could be used twice! calmed down now ont th' ol' nail biting

Mum used 2 tell me when I was younger that if I bit my fingernails a big plant would grow inside me!! I haven't eva bit my nails since!!

When I was younger my dad told me that if you picked your nose too much, that you would pull the lining from your brain! I believed that until I was 11 years old.

When my nephew was very young he persistently picked his nose. I told him that if he didn't stop, his head would cave in. He started crying hysterically, even his mum couldn't stop him. I felt a bit of a prat trying to explain what had happened, considering I was 26 at the time and should have known better!

I used to believe that if I picked my nose too much then my head would cave in. That was what my dad told me at least!

When I was little my mum used to shout at me for picking my nose and eating it, but my big cousin told me that it was ok to eat your snot cos it just went back up your nose again, so that is what I kept telling my mum when she shouted at me.

I don't know why, but I used to believe that if you smoked and drank at the same time, you would self-ignite and blow up!I believed that until I was well into my teens!
