sucking my thumb

i sucked my thumb till i was 10 years old. my family always told me that i would get bucked teeth from it. my brothers tried to hand cuff me so that i would stop. my teeth are fine!

When my sister was little, she used to suck her thumb. My mom and dad tried to get her out of the habit, so my older sister and I figured we'd help... and give her nightmares.
We told her a story about a man who sucked his thumb and about how he was homeless because nobody liked him for it. We told of how one day, he had to go to the hospital beacuse his thumb started bleeding and how it fell off. Everday, we would add on to the story of this man's thumb. To this day, she won't even look at her thumb.

I had a really bad habit of sucking my thumb, and I sucked it until I was 9 years old. (the only reason I stopped was because of an expander in my mouth. There just wasn't room for my thumb anymore!) Well when i was little i sucked my thumb until i was about four then i stopped. Then i started in kindergarten again because my best friend (stll!) did. Then my sister said that your thumb wouldn't grow anymore and would shrink! I stopped sucking my thumb and told my mom, and she told me she sucked her thumb until she was 11!

When I was 7-8, I still sucked my thumb. Well, not infront of my friends. My parents tried to find excuses for me to stop, until my father came up with, "If you keep sucking your thumb, all the skin will come off and your bones will be left!" That did the trick.
