I always thought the line in the Carly Simon song about Warren Baity (not sure if the surname is spelt right - sorry Warren!) was about the 'wife of a postman' not a close friend.
A childhood belief about songs

others believed things like this
- I used to believe my middle name was spelled "Worn" it is "Warren"— Bart
- I told someone once that my favorite band was the Funkel brothers- Simon and Garth.
(Simon & Garfunkel)— Josie - I always thought that it was "Afully Wedded Wife" Not "lawfully wedded wife"— Sarah
- I once asked my dad what Jesus' surname was, and he said it was 'Sinclair'.
I believed it for years!— Rebekah - I used to believe that Paul Simon was my cousin. He isn't.Anon
- i thought the line "saving my face" from the KT Tunstall song of the same name was "shaving my face"Anon
