I remember being rather confused at the lyric in the popular Christmas carol that went 'Dawn we now our day of peril, fa la la, la la la, la la la'. I couldn't figure out why we were so happy about a day of peril, but hey. Christmas is weird.
A childhood belief about hymns

others believed things like this
- I was told that for every christmas carol i sang before christmas time santa would give me one less present!— K
- When I was little, I used to think whenever it snowed, it would be Christmas.— TropicalSmoothie
- I used to believe that every religous Christmas card we recieved was sent to us by God.Anon
- "Christmas time
mistletoe and brine..."— Santa Puncher - Do you really mean to tell me that father Christmas is a myth?
Finally......— Peter (Aged 70) - On Christmas Eve all the animals are able to talk but only for that night!Anon
