My Dad has always been a chain smoker, and always referred to cigarettes as 'fags' as do a lot of people. When Mum would go to the shop she would ask Dad if he wanted any fags, and he always did - I thought fags were faggots, and thought that my Dad ate rather a lot of them. Yuck.
