I used to believe that pictures held some mystical spiritual power over the subject. Namely, if the picture was destroyed, so was the person. Something like that. Imagine my dismay when i accidentally spilled elmer's glue on a wallet sized portrait of my dad. When i tried to wipe it off, his face came with it. I cried because i thought that i just killed my dad. Very relieved when he came home from work that evening.
A childhood belief about people

others believed things like this
- I thought that elmers glue was made from milk, since it had that cow on the glue bottle. — Monty
- I believed if I let my dog lick my face and didn't wipe off the slobber, that I would turn into a dog myself.— robyn
- when i was little, i thought that a con artist was a person that painted pictures of people commiting crimes— kimkim
- I used to belief that the birth mark on my dad's leg was where he spilled his coffee... EVERY morning.— Liz
- I used to have an imaginary friend named Mr. Nobody. He would protect me from my imaginary enemy, Bad Elmer.— Kdees
- I used to believe that everyone in pictures could see me so i turned all of the pictures in my house backwardsAnon
