When i was little my mom told me that she could "plug" her ears and wouldn't be able to hear what i said. being little i believed her and would tell her to plug her ears so i could tell my dad all sorts of secrets (like what her birthday present was) in front of her. the really sad part is i believed this until i was about 14 or so. very gullible little child (and adult)!
