Once I convinced myself that I could make anything I wanted happen with the power of my mind if I just said, "I want <such and such>. I want <such and such>." over and over again. When I had a bad run of luck, I realized that whatever I wished for, the opposite usually happened. So, I quickly came to the realization that I had been going about it backwards and that what I should have been doing all along is wishing for just the opposite. I spent an entire month mentally chanting, "I don't want to go to Disneyworld. I don'w want to go to Disneyworld. I don't want to go to Disneyworld."
