My Grandmother used to dry her nylon stockings on a rack in her bathtub. When the shower door was closed I could see them faintly through it. I was terrified of the vague shadowy shapes even though I wasn't sure what they were. But I knew they were bad. I would try to be as silent as possible when using the bathroom. And when I flushed, I ran out as quickly as possible.
