Knowing that the same computer chip could perform different functions, and that computer chips were electrical circuits, I had this image of tiny assembly cranes inside the chip constantly rebuilding the internal circuitry to match demand. I won't tell you how old I was when I realized this to be untrue. ^_^
A childhood belief about technology
others believed things like this
- I used to think cut and paste meant there were scissors and glue inside the computer!Anon
- I used to believe that scientists were robots and they had some kind of chip in their brain.Anon
- My music teacher once said that music in an electrical piano was made by little tiny men that lived inside it.Anon
- I used to pronounce the word "Computer" as "Crocuta"
Anon - I used to believe Chad Kroeger from Nickelback was computer generated— Indeed
- When I was a child, I believed that thunder was God playing on the computer.
