When I was small, I believed there was a monster at the other end of the toilet pipe, and when you flushed the toilet, it was a signal to him to start sucking, and he would suck up everything in the bowl. Now, this is bad enough, but I also thought that if you didn't close the lid fast enough, he'd suck you in, too!
