My brother used to think those yellow street signs with the wavy lines behind a car that indicated curves on the road ahead actually meant that there were snakes on the road ahead. If I recall correctly he was quite frightened by this.
A childhood belief about in the street

others believed things like this
- I believed that the gap between the double yellow lines in the road was a special lane for motorcycles.— Joel
- I used to beleive that road signs grew out of the ground.— Tiana
- I used to see "End Road Work" signs, and thought they were a sort of protest.— Sebastian
- I used to believe that the sky had stop lights and road signs floating about for the airplanes.
— LoonaSM's - I used to believe that north was always straight ahead. I could never face south, but I knew it was behind me!— Bruces
- i used to believe that the no outlet signs meant that noone in that section of the street had electricityAnon
