When I was in grade school I must have heard somewhere (probably on tv)that a woman got pregnant after she and a man "slept together," so I asked my sister (5 years older)why my Mom wasn't pregnant when she slept with Dad every night. She told me, "Well, they don't just lay side by side in their pajamas, they have to be naked and then the man climbs on top of the woman and then they DO IT." After this conversation I believed that a couple stripped naked, got into bed with the man on top of the woman and then just slept like that all night, and this would make the woman pregnant. I thought it was understandable that my Mom wouldn't want to have any more kids because it would be awfully uncomfortable for her to have to sleep with my Dad laying on top of her when he is so much bigger and heavier than she is.
