I used to believe that each sock had to go on a specific foot (like shoes). But I always had a hard time figuring out which sock belonged on which foot. I felt pretty embarassed to ask my mum for help, and when I finally asked her she started laughing. I thought this was because she thought I was stupid for not being able to tell which sock belonged on which foot. I was pretty confused.
