I am sure the majority of us have heard Madonna's song "Secret" from her Bedtime Stories album. Well, when I was young, I always thought she said "having his lice in your own hands" rather than the real, and much less confusing lyrics, "happiness lies in your hands". I finally realized what she was saying when a few years later I bought the cd and read the lyrics from the cd booklet.
A childhood belief about misheard lyrics

others believed things like this
- When I was young,I thought the lyrics "Secret Agent man" were actually "Secret Asian Man".— M.M.B.
- Actual lyrics: "I've never been your beast of burden"
My lyrics: "I've never been your big suburban"
— Big Suburban - My mum always thought the lyrics to macy grays song was i try to say goodbye to my chook.— alana
- I thought that the song "Hands off she's mine" by The English Beat was actually saying "Anton, she's my aunt"— Nate
- in the song with the lyrics "take your passion" my sister used to always think it was "take your pants off"— Steped
