I was helping my grandmother clean her house, and she commented on how shiny all her boy and girl figures were. ( I found out later they were Hummels) I told her it was because I used the porcelin jelly on them. She asked me to show her this 'magic substance' and was horrified to find out it was petrolem jelly (Vaseline). Some of her figures were to 'clean' to be saved.
