A childhood belief about people

I used to think that the phrase "Death Row" was pronounced "Death Road". I thought that every time another prisoner was sentenced to "Death Road" he had to get in line behind the person that had been sentenced before him and wait his turn until his execution. All the prisoners were obviously lined up on this Death Road.
