As teenagers, back in the 1950s, we were told that taking aspirin with Coke would make us drunk. An awful lot of kids believed that, but (as an adult) I used to take aspirin with Coke all the time...with NO effects!
A childhood belief about drinks

others believed things like this
- when I was little, I called coke and pepsi "Black Juice"— can I have a refil on the black juice?
- When I was younger, I thought that coke tasted like chocolate.— Ann
- I used to think that if someone gave you acid, you could completely counter the effects by taking an antacid.— abracadaver
- I used to think that apple juice was beer and I'd drink it all the time and pretend to be drunk.— Dee
- I used to think that teenagers had really interesting conversations.— Nathan
- i used to believe that when teenagers dated, the guy had to be older than the girl.— claire
