When I was in about 5th grade, I read a book in which one of the characters goes to confession. Since I'm not Catholic, I had no idea what that was, and assumed it was something I'd be expected to do when I was older. Well, at least my parents made sure I was clear on all the fundamentals!
A childhood belief about church

others believed things like this
- When ever someone said ''read aloud'' I assumed aloud was the title of a book. Lol.— Delaney
- I used to believe if you read a book in the dark, you would go blind.— Ellen
- When a "mean girl" in early grade school asked me if I was a virgin I answered "no I am catholic."— Hilary
- I read in a book that if you ever swallowed toothbrush bristles then you would get appendicitus!— Amy
- I used to say " The ghost is clear!" Instead of "The coast is clear"— Jake
- When I was 3 I assumed that my parents were 18 and that every grown-up was 18.Anon
