I always thought that if someone was said to be 'outspoken' that it meant that they were out-spoken, in the same sense as someone can be out-done; that they couldn't get a word in edge ways cos everyone would 'out-speak' them.
A childhood belief about speaking

others believed things like this
- I thought all you had to do to speak Russian was add -ski to the end of every word!— nateski
- I used to believe that to speak Spanish all you had to do was a an "o" to the end of each word. — !!.-ariel-.!!
- I used to believe that "nuptial" was a naughty word. I thought it meant nipple. XD— Sara Hagen
- For years I heard the word "pedophile" and thought it meant a pedicurist's tool.— Lauren
- When I was little I used to believe that URDU is the most spoken language in the world Anon
- I thought being mentally challenged meant you couldn't do any challenges with peopleAnon
