I got almost everyline wrong in the pledge:
I pledge a lesion, to the flag of the United Stakes of America
And to the republic, for Richard Stanz
One nation, undergone,
with little tea, and just ice, for all
This was cleared up when, in 2nd grade, it was my turn to say it over the PA system.
A childhood belief about the pledge

others believed things like this
- I thought the Pledge of Allegiance was "to the United Steaks of America," and that we were saying it to cows.— bessy
- I used to believe that the "Pledge" of Allegiance had something to do with our "Pledge" cleaner. — Pledge
- Through second grade I always concluded the pledge with '...indivisible, with liberty and just a straw.'— George
- I used to believe it was illegal to not recite the pledge at school. Anon
- I used to think it was the United STEAKS of America and that cows must be really important in the U.S.— Jake
- I used to believe that America was one of the states of the United States.— Limor
