A childhood belief about general

My mother has a long scar running down the small of her back along her tailbone, and my older sister always told me that that was the remnant of a tail-removal surgery and that the offending body part was stowed away in a drawer in my mother's bureau. I believed from around the ages of 4 til 10 or 11 that if I was naughty my mother would get her tail out and beat me with it.
