As a teen in the 90s, I loved to listen to 70s rock - and one of my favorite songs to sing was "Big Old Fat Carolina" (Steve Miller Band's, "Big Ol' Jet Airliner"). A year later when I found out the actual lyrics, it wasn't so fun to sing anymore... heh.
A childhood belief about misheard lyrics

others believed things like this
- "Big "Ol Jet Had A Light On" aka Big Ol Jet Airliner - Steve Miller Band— My son in law John
- I used to think that Steve Miller song "Big old jet airliner" was "Bingo Jed had a light out" — Skeeter
- Did anyone else sing "Hark, the hairy angels sing"?— Jill
- My mum said that when I used to sing "noahs arc" at school I would sing "who built the arc, no one, no one"— Clare
- I used to think that church songs were pop music. Well, we did sing them in church every week...— Roxy
- Actual lyrics: "I've never been your beast of burden"
My lyrics: "I've never been your big suburban"
— Big Suburban
