When I was little I used to play outside with all our friends, and we had quite large play areas enclosed by the houses, so really safe, one of ours friends saw some pampus grass growing in a few places on the estate, and told us that the only place in whole world where it grew was on our estate, and that it was really endangered. For years afterward we wouldn't go near it, and got rally upset if our ball or us fell into it. We would apologise to the plant if a branch was broken off.
