My sister and I have always loved to sing in the car - and in the early 80's when we used to sing along to the song "True" by Spandau Ballet (from 16 candles soundtrack), we thought it said
I no dis machis choo (in the chorus)
when it really says "I know this much is True"
A childhood belief about misheard lyrics

others believed things like this
- I am Canadian and when I was little I would sing "True Pastry Love" instead of 'True Patriot Love"— Jess
- When listening to the radio in the mornings I felt sorry for singers they had to come and sing that early. — Tereza
- Did anyone else sing "Hark, the hairy angels sing"?— Jill
- My mum said that when I used to sing "noahs arc" at school I would sing "who built the arc, no one, no one"— Clare
- I thought that Spandu Ballet were ballet dancers and wore tutus.— Helen
- I thought that singer/songwriter was spelled this way: sing-a-song-writer...Anon
