When I was little I couldn't figure out how people had earrings on their ears. I vaguely thought people had holes punched in their ears, but discarded that idea almost immediately. "Why would people punch holes in their ears?" I thought. I do not know when I learned the truth. Surprisingly enough, I now have my ears pierced!
