I used to think that when people said 'God Bless You' after someone sneezed, that they were really saying "Gosh! Bleshoe!" thinking that Bleshoe was the word for a sneeze and that people were pointing out the painfully obvious.
A childhood belief about speaking

others believed things like this
- I used to believe that "God bless you" was "gableshu," so everytime someone sneezed, I would say "gableshu."— JS
- I used to think that foreign people coughed and sneezed in a different language.— Even more stupid
- I also thought that people in different countries coughed, sneezed, laughed, or cried in their own language!— Mini
- I used to get mad when people used the word "native" because I thought they were making fun of my name!— Nate
- I used to think that the word blurb was a noise that people made when being sick. Bluuuggghhh.— Natasha
- I used to think that if you don't close your eyes while you sneeze YOU DIE!!!!— Nutter
