When I was just learning about periods and such, I thought that a girl got her period and just started bleeding a lot all at once, not that it happened over a period of days. I thought that girls would have to always wear pads in case they weren't in the bathroom at the time, and I thought it was a lot of blood because I would always see a lot of blood in the toilet (I know, gross). I was so scared to get my period because I didn't want to always have to wear a pad every day of my life waiting for it to come.
