My poor Dad was mortified by my questions about where babies come from, so he told me that he had planted a seed in Mummy's tummy. I honestly believed that he dug up Mummy's tummy with a spade (while he was naked too, bizarrely enough), and planted a single seed. I couldn't understand how a seed could grow in blood and guts instead of soil, but I suppose I didn't ponder it too much at that age.
