I used to believe that people on a TV wedding would actually be married if the preacher said all of the words of the marriage ceremony. That is why they would never show the whole ceremony, it would cut to different parts. I would sit and watch anytime there was a wedding on a soap opera or any show to see if they actually showed the entire ceremony. I believed this until I was in high school.
