My younger sister always had a hard time saying "cucumbers" -- she'd pronounce it cumcubers which, to anyone past puberty, sounds pretty obscene.
My cousins used to say "hamboogers" too which never sounded like something I wanted to eat.
A childhood belief about speaking

others believed things like this
- As a child, my twin sister and I used to pronounce `Spaghetti' as `Mastaghetti'. Sounds a bit rude, no? Anon
- i could swear eleventeen was a number for the longest time -- it still sounds pretty convincing.— erin
- When my sister was about 9 or 10 she used to pronounce "chaos" like "chows"Anon
- that the green bit of cucumbers was poisonousAnon
- so guess what i learned the other day: pickles came from cucumbers. yes indeed.— jenna
- I used to believe that pickles grew on trees and didn't come from cucumbers.Anon
