I used to tell everyone my name was Nancy (it isn't even close). Later, when people would ask her how Nancy was doing, she'd just give them a blank stare and ask, "who?"
They always thought she wasn't all there or something, until the day she realized what I was telling everyone, and started setting them straight.
A childhood belief about names

others believed things like this

- I used to think making straight A's in school was literally writing A's straight. Anon
- I thought Maria Carey's 1998 ballad was 'I'd give my arms' instead of 'I'd give my all'.— Briony Maggs
- I thought the tip jar at the restaurant was so people could give the chef cooking tips for how to cook better.Anon
- That only men farted. I literally started sobbing the first time I realized I farted.Anon
