when i was a kid i saw in a magazine a picture of some people on a ski lift. for quite a long time after that i thought that power/telephone lines were in fact chair lift lines which enabled actors who had been shrunk to get into the back of the tv set. and perform live.
A childhood belief about tv

others believed things like this
- I always thought the connectors on the telephone lines were flying turtles.— Angie B
- I thought cartoons were real, I remember asking my mom why there were lines around the "actors" in a cartoon.— Steven Graziano
- I used to belive if someone liftes you up, and you lift them at the same time, you will float in the air.— D'Anthony
- I thought it was impossible for anyone to lift more than their own body weight. Just seemed to make sense..— Xenomorph
- When I was younger I thought that the jets that leave lines in the sky were rockets — Harry
- I thought the lines in the sky left behind by airplanes were "sky scrapers". Makes sense.Anon
