I used to believe (and I'm dead serious when I say this) that your armpits would bleed the day you became a woman. Every morning before I would go to school. I would check my armpits to see if they were bleeding, and I would be so paranoid sitting in class thinking 'What if I start bleeding?!'

i use to belive that people had something special like magic they, and only they, could do. i thought i could cause misfortune without even touching someone.

when i was little we used to have this lightbulb that hung from the ceiling over our staircase there was know shade or blind over it just a bare bulb with a metal chain....i dont remember how i figured it out or if someone told me to do it but, i would stare at it for what seemed like five minutes and i swore i could see color balls of different shapes and sizes floating up and down the staircase....i bet any of you that if you look into a light bulb straight on for at least 1 minute you will experience a ball of color any where you focus your eyes after staring.....then my mom said id burn my eyes out if i kept it up so i stopped .....

When I was little and I laid on my mother's bed with the thermometer in my tushy, I used to picture little men inside me pushing the mercury up according to how much temperature I had.

When a grown up told me they heard about me being naughty or doing well at play school (nursery) I believed they heard me from far away. When some grown ups told me they didn't I then concluded that some grown ups like mum or gran had special powers other grown ups didn't have. I learned the truth soon after.

I had a friend who when he was younger believed you died one bodypart at a time. Once everything died then that was it. He had bad headaches as a child and would cry to his Mom "My head is dying my head is dying" he was terrified to find out which bodypart would be the next to go.

When I was a bit younger, until my freshman year of high school, I always had a runny nose in the morning that would stop around noon.

Not knowing any better, I called this condition "morning sickness".

I corrected myself when I looked up "cures for morning sickness" in my mother's "Doctor's Home Remedies".

I didn't have morning sickness, I learned that much.

Lol, I have no idea why, but when I was like 9, I used to beleive that you "took a picture" everytime you blinked and that when you died and went to Heaven, you got to see the "pictures" of your life! I got a lot of strange looks directed at me when I was in public and rapidly blinking, but sometimes I would try not to blink to often so that I wouldn't have to look at boring pictures when I died lol :P

When i was about 5 or 6 i watched a tv program called blues clues, at one stage in the program they would jump into a picture, boardgame, etc. after saying some magic words. There was a guy and a cartoon dog, the guy would say come on you do it too. So i'd repeat the words and try jumping into the tv, after a week or so of trying i finally realized it was impossible. when i look back i realize it was great fun but i dind't half hurt my shoulder then!

I went through a phase when I believed that my mother might break into a million tiny pieces if I hugged her too tightly. I was terrified of bedtime because she always wanted me to give her a really big hug goodnight.

When I was about 6 I read something in a magazine about how people of a certain culture (no idea which) believed that if you slept with your mouth open your soul would climb out and you would stay asleep forever... this scared the hell out of me and I couldn't go to sleep for ages because I was too afraid my mouth would fall open!

My brother used to believe that boys and girls had the same "private parts". At the same time I used to believe that boys NEVER touched their "thingy" when going to the bathroom; that would be gross. He was about 9 and I was 6. I would never wash my hands after I went to the bathroom because I never got them really dirty or anything and I didn't touch anything disgusting. My brother, however, had to use his hands to hold his penis and so he always washed his hands. He was disgusted with me. "Don't your hands ever get sticky?" he asked me. I was so confused. I thought he used some special type of toilet paper that was like Silly Putty that would be pink, strechy, and wet. o_0
