When my twins were very little - around 4 - we took them to an amusement park. Husband had taken one of them to the loo. While waiting for them to return, the other one decided he had to use the loo too! So I took him to the ladies room. He did his thing. I decided that while I was there I would use it too. While sitting down, I noticed he looked very concerned. He then announced very LOUDLY, "Mommy, don't worry. When daddy is done using his, he will let you use it."
I still remember hearing the lady in the stall next to me laughing.

When I was a little kid I beleived that in order for no one to know that I farted, I had to smell it all before any else did. So after I farted I go snffing up all the scent I could find, needless to say, I could never get to all of it quick enough...someone always got the last little bit that I missed!

I used to beleive that you could catch yourself sleeping if you woke up fast enough.
I used to believe that I could see through things, like blankets and pillows, when I was laying in bed. I one day realized that the object was only blocking the vision of one eye, and that I was seeing "through" it with the other eye.

When we were little my sister was soooooo afraid to poop in the toilet (she would either hold it until she could go outside, or cry the enire time she was on the toilet) because the poop would jump back out of the toilet and bite her butt.
It wasn't until she was about 10 that she realised it was just the splash from the poop falling into the toilet!

When I was about 5 I had to have my appendix removed. The day it happened I was really sick with what I thought was a stomach ache for most of the day. Now normally, at breakfast, my mom would make me chocolate milk. But for some reason that day my dad had made it and he'd put too much syrup in it. For years I thought it was his fault that I had gotten so sick!

When I was three or four, I was playing at my cousins house when I got a nosebleed. I think we must have had hot dogs with ketchup for lunch earlier that day, because I was so confused why all of this ketchup was coming out of my nose. It didn't hurt, so I didn't understand that I was bleeding. When my aunt tried to explain to me what a nosebleed was, I didn't believe her, I was convinced it was ketchup and kept arguing with her.

When I was about 4 on the way to school everyday with my mom we would get on a road that faced directly into the sun. my mom being taller than I could use the visor to block it but I was unlucky enough to have it in my face the entire time. I would whine and carry on for my mom to make it stop and move the sun...needless to say, we would eventually turn and it would be gone. But in my mind, my mom had the power to move the sun...it awhile later that I figured out that the turn and the sun in my eyes corresponded...

When I was very young (around 4 or 5) I firmly believed that when I shut my eyes that I would become invisible. Since, at the time, I had a huge fear of the monster in the closet across the hall, I would shut my eyes whenever I was in the vicinity of said closet.

When my neice was about 4 she pretended to be spider man. Once she got really mad at her mom and pointed her hand at her and yelled "WEB!!", because she believed her rage would enable actual web to fly forth from her hand.

When I was young, I used to believe that if your pee or poo was mixed with someone else's... like if they didn't flush or like in an outhouse... the mix of the two created a smelly bathroom AND a noxious gas that could poison you.
I don't know if one would call this a "magic trick", but when I was just 5...I would have called it anything but a magic trick. Remember Mary Poppins? Well, I was her (so I thought) as I stood at the top of a flight of stairs and opened mom's umbrella and tried leaping through the air. i crashed and got a few bumps and bruises. I tried another stunt that would be sure to work after watching Batman - only this time with 2 umbrellas - I landed on the sofa and realized they used special umbrellas that not even I could get my hands on.
i used to believe machines in our heads controlled us with little people making our every move .. i even named some.
