I had heard the term "having gas pains", but didn't know that the "gas" was actually farts. One day in the fourth grade I was having a lot of stomach aching and I got up in class and announced to my teacher, "I think I'm having gas pains!". She looked absolutely disgusted and all the kids were laughing. My teacher then yelled back, "Well go to the bathroom then! What are you tellin' me for?!" After I found out what that meant, I just wanted to die!

I used to believe that your tummy could only hold a certain amount of food. Eating too much would "stretch" it and that was what a tummyache was. If you ate waaaaay to much the tummy couldn't hold anymore and puking would result. So I basically thought everyone I ever saw puke had brought it on themselves by eating more than they should have.

When I was about 5 I think, I Use to watch the TV program "My Favorite Martian" I like so much the power of levitation that the Martian (Ray Walston) had, that I started asking God to give me this power, I told him that I was going to be a good boy if he gave me this power. Every morning when I woke up, I would put my finger just like he did, and point at something and with all my might try to move it, unfortunately this never happened.

I used to believe that good and expensive joggers would make me run fast.

I used to believe that if you got a splinter it would fossilize and adhere to your bones making them stronger. Furthermore when my mother tried to tell me I was wrong about this I told her that I knew I was right .... because I knew all about George Washington.

I used to think (because of my sister) that if you ate only one piece of candy, it would be lonely in your stomach, so I always ate food in even numbers so they would have friends when they got down there.

I use to believe that if you stared at the sun long enough, (the more painful the better) you would eventually get laser powered eyes like on Superman. I don't know where I got this idea from but it didn't do my eeys any hram ;-)

I met someone at Reading festival that thought that girls didnt acctually sit down to pee he thought we stood! He also questioned why i was taking toilet paper to the toilet if i only needed a wee he didnt realise girls wiped when they peed either...he was 18....strange boy

I used to believe I had the power to see through things. I had noticed that I could "see through" my hand if I covered only one of my eyes. So I promptly went out and tried to see through buildings using that eye...

I used to believe that women didn't fart. Actually, I've still only heard about 2 do it in 33 years, maybe there's something in it?

I used to believe…

When I got sick from a stomach illness once, I was told I had caught a 'tummy bug'. I actually thought there was a small bug in my stomach, making me sick, so I used to turn upside and hit myself in the belly trying to kill and get the 'bug' out.

Until I was about 5 I always thought everyone peed a different color because I'd see that blue toilet bowl cleaner and just think that someone didn't flush.

I used to believe that there is a grinder inside our stomach (with rotating blades made out of bones) which crushed the food and hence digest it. I even used to believe that when we walk or run there was some kind of a mechanism which would rotate the chopper blades faster, digesting the food quickly!

I once believed that if you cut your finger and get the wound infected, rice would come out of it. This made me very careful so I put a Band-aid over the wound.

My sister and I used to believe that if you drank and got durnk you could actully fly. One day morning after my parents bridge night we found a half glass of some whisky and we tried out our theory. It didn't work

I used to believe…

When I was little I was certain I could see in the dark. I would try out my "powers" by running around the yard at night. But after running into a tree face first, I had to live with the fact I couldn't see in the dark....

Growing up, I was very fond of the TV show "The Flying Nun" with Sally Fields. I even made a nun hat out of cardboard. We didn't live far from the school playground with the big swings and one weekend, my cousin and I went to play. I strapped the hat on and swung as high as I could . . . let go . . . and, oh, my god, I didn't know a broken arm could hurt so bad. My cousin ran screaming home and I was not allowed to watch the program again.
