I used to believe that all children were born girls then if they stood up when they peed enough times then they turned into a boy, well when i went to nursery i told my friend this theory and we both decided life would be much better as a boy, so decided to stand above the toilets when we peed, this resulted in my friend falling and getting her foot stuck in the toilet and the fire brigade having to cut her out. Our teacher was not amused. We were even less amused to find that we were stuck as girls for the rest of our lives. The sex talk came soon after

I used to believe that if you kept eating and drinking, your body would fill up and you would die.
This was before I learned about the whole digestive/waste thing.

When I first heard that girls have "three separate holes for three separate functions" (meaning their vaginas are separate from their urethras or anuses), I thought for a long time that it meant girls poop and fart out of separate holes!

When I was little I use to believe there were drawers in my stomach so whatever I ate had its own draw that would open and catch it
i used to have vivid dreams of being a bat and being able to fly. i thought that if i could just wake up before i was totally awake (and thus human) i would be able to "remember" how to fly. For quite a while I would wake up early in the morning and jump down a very steep flight of stairs. My parents never knew what was going on because i was only 3 and couldn't explain.

well, this by far has to be the wierdest belief in this section. When I was little I used to have imaginary friends, and whenever I would need to go to the bathroom, i would think I would have to go to the bathroom because my invisible friends wanted to come visit me. So I would sit on the toilet and pretend to chat with them.

until i was about 6, i used to believe that there was an alligator that controlled my pee and poo, so everytime i used the washroom, i made sure to say. Mr Alligator, can you let me pee right now...opening his mouth would allow me to tinkle.
I used to believe that pee came out your vagina..odd.. I also didn't know about where it did come out... Up until a little too recently...

When i was about four i believed that wearing a batman costume made you able to fly. I thought this until i was about 6 when i dressed up as Batman, climbed a tree and jumped out of it trying to fly. I landed on the ground and broke my arm.

Peter Pan used to be my favourite movie in the whole world. I used to believe that people can really fly if they just think happy thoughts. I tried thinking happy thoughts as hard as I could, but it didn't work. When my mom finally told me that Peter Pan was just a movie and people can't really fly, I cried and cried for a very long time.

My mom told me that you have nightmares because you are thinking about scary thoughts befoer you go to bed and that whatever you think about before you go to bed will be what you dream about. So, for years, I just pictured in my head myself, surrounded by a huge crowd, saying "I love people." and everyone would go "Awww..." I thought of this repeatedly until I fell asleep.
I used to believe that STAPH infection was a disease one got when they went to work (staff infection). Then I actually contracted it and learned the real meaning.

As a very young kid (three or four), I liked putting marbles in my mouth (something about the smoothness) and my mom would always get upset when I did. As expected, I eventually swallowed one on accident. Frantic that my mom would somehow know, I figured out how to remove it. All I needed to do was stand on my head! Brilliant! Five-minutes later, with a face red from blood rushing to my head, I just gave up and told my mom what had happened. She got upset, but then she taught me about the esophagus and told me I would just poop the marble out.

When I was a kid, I had this idea that the inside of the torso was basically hollow. If you swallowed food, it would fall out of a hole at the base of the neck and into this cavernous region. At the bottom it would fall into stomach acid (for some reason I knew about stomach acid but not the stomach itself) and the walls were just skin/muscle tissue. I don't remember when it dawned on me that there were organs and bones in there, but I do remember that, at least for a few moments, I was cautious about accepting this "anti-hollow" theory.
