When I was much younger I didn't know that our bodies had veins and bloor vessels. So I thought that our blood just floated around under our skin. And when I cut myslef my brother would scare me by telling me all of it would come out and I would die.
I know the truth now and to get my brother back I always remind him how he cried in The Lion King movie!

When I was little I remember the teacher asking "Does anyone need to go to the potty?" I totally thought she meant "party" so I was like "ooh! me! me!". Boy, I was disapointed when she took me to the bathroom and there was no party. The funny part is that I did that more than once.

When I had an itch as a child I thought that it was caused by a little creature inside me that wanted attention. Kind of like a cat that wants petted will rub against your leg, the creature would rub up against the inside of my skin until I had scratched it enough, then it would go off on its merry way.
Also, my dad used to tell me that if you sneezed 16 times in a row you would die. Not that big a deal unless you have allergies, which I do. I remember quite a few times as a kid where I reached 15 sneezes and then nearly blew my eardrums out trying to hold in deadly number 16. :)

As a child, I was told not to shower during a lightning storm because water acts as a conducter for electricity and that if lightning struck a water pipe underground while I was in the shower, I could be electricuted. As a result, I was afraid to urinate during lightning storms because I figured the electricity could travel through the pipes and up the stream of urine to my little guy.
I hadn't learned about the digestion system yet so i wasn't sure what happened to your food. So i made up my own idea. Food would be stored in your toes and as you got older and ate the food level would rise until it came out your mouth and you died. every day i checked the mirror to see if i could see the food yet.
I use to have a fascination with being able to fly. One evening when I was about 10, I was convinced I actually took flight and flew off the ground at least 1 foot. I bragged about it later to my family.
Another time years later, I asked my dad what would he do if, I started flying up into the sky? He said he would have to shoot me down. I thought I would die laughing.

You know when you stare at the sun or a light source, you see spots when you look away? I thought that those spots were ghosts. The first time it happened I thought the spots were ghosts coming to get me. I screamed and yelled for my mom and she came running. When I told her what was wrong, she said there was nothing wrong and she couldn't see any ghosts. When she left I remember feeling deeply concerned because only I had the ability to see ghosts, and that I would have to be quiet about seeing these horrifying things because no one else could and they'd think I was crazy. I took on this "burden" very seriously for a child of 5...

For some reason I used to believe that if I turned myself around 360 degrees that somehow the world would be different so I would try to correct myself if I accidentally turned in one spot too much

When I was about 6-7 y.o. there was an ad on TV explaining the differences between 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade burns. I believe 1st grade burn were the ones you'd got when you were in the 1st grade of school and so on. I was very worried I'd get ever buernt during that year because I'd be in 2nd grade and didn't want to have blisters!

I used to believe that each kind of food had its own compartment in your stomach. In other words, meat went to one compartment, vegetables to another, etc.

When I was little i used to think that the whole human body had little people in it, doing all the work, like really small people. That used to run 'round giving oxygen to the people in the muscles and the brain people telling the other people in various body parts what to do. Aswell as people in the stomach ripping everything up and dividing the good stuff to the bad stuff, wasn't until i learnt about the proper functions, i sat there thinking "but what about the little people?"
I believed that I could "tightrope walk" across the footboard of my bed, without falling, if I held in each hand one of the plaster angel plagues my aunt made me. I fell and broke the angels.
I used to believe that I could breath underwater. I would wait until I ran out of air and then drink some pool water, and my body would absorb the oxygen and allow me to stay under longer.

when i was about 6 i had a pair of Batman underpants, so one day i decided that if i go out side in nothing but them, hold a balloon for extra support, and jump off my swingset, the Batman underpants would somehow activate their Batman powers and i would be able to fly.
I attempted this about 9 times until my dad came outside, being very confused, asked what i was doing, and when i told him, laughed for about a minute, and kept chuckling here and there for about a day everytime he thought about it

When I was very young my aunt had had TB (tuberculosis). Any way, after their first child, my friend, they couldn't have another, so they adopted one. I asked my mom why and she said "because Aunt June had TB. Well, never having heard of this, I herard "TV" and for years thought that she couldn't have children becaues of television!

As a kid, me and my two brothers went to the public restrooms together. THose two always went peeing in teh urinals and told me to go in the stall, regardless of what kind of business I need to do. I used to believe that the youngest member of tha group always takes the stall in a public restroom out of being formal. Later, I realized that I was too short to use the urinals back then.

My mom had an easy time potty training me. She said if I didn't go to the bathroom at the right time it would all back up and come out my mouth.
