I used to believe that a fart was a bubble (like a soap bubble) with a little chunk of poo in it. When the bubble burst, it made the fart sound and the smell of the poo-chunk would come out.

When I was about 3 years old I was playing outside in the summer and started sweating. I had no idea what was happening so I ran inside to my mom screaming "I'm watering! I'm watering!" It took me years before I learned that every sweats.

I went to boarding school when I was 11 and on the first tour of the place, I was shown round the sick bay. There were notices up stating surgery times... I almost threw up I was so scared! Once my Mum left me there it was clear that they had veto over me to operate on me whenever they liked, they could amputate all my limbs and sell them to the zoo if they wanted to! It was three years before I went down there for an illness - I treated everything myself, with hot ribena.

I GREW UP IN THE 80'S. ONE DAY I WAS WATCHING THE T.V AND A NEWS SPECIAL CAME ON, TELLING THE WORLD ABOUT THE DANGERS OF AIDS. THAT AFTERNOON I FELT MINUTELY OFF COLOUR, SO I BROKE THE NEWS TO MY DAD: 'Dad, I feel ill, I'm afraid I've got Aids'.
that was when he knew how frighteningly intelligent I would be : )

Up until I was approximately 7 or 8 years old, I believed that each family had its own way of going to the bathroom, and our family's way was to pull your pants down. I had only been in the company of my own family and cousins in the bathroom, and it wasn't until a scouting expedition, when I was with other girls in the bathroom, that I discovered that everybody pulls their pants down to go to the bathroom.

My Mom had a car accident soon after I was born and had to have surgery on her knee because of it. Somehow, I got it into my head that there were still tiny doctors living inside her knee, working on it.

When I was little, I used to believe that there was a compartment that had the exact shape of the food that you ate. (e.g. when we ate hot dogs, there was a compartment shaped exactly like a hot dog that it filled up.). When I would say that I was full, I would say that "there's still the dessert compartment left to fill up!"

my best friend's older brother told us that snot was actually dead brain cells, and so when you had a cold, and your nose was runny, your brain was dying at a faster rate, and all running out of your nose.

i became terrified of blowing my nose, and was scared if you blew it too much, your brains would all come out.

to this day, i really don't like to blow my nose...

My sister and I both had minor surgery as infants -- she had a hernia and I had a cyst removed from my neck. I used to believe that they cut my head off, took out the cyst then sewed my head back on...

Not only that -- I also used to believe that EVERY kid had an operation when they were a baby. When I was 4 I was at my grandmother's for the summer. The first day I met another little girl and in an effort to get to know her asked her what kind of operation she had when she was little. I was dumbfounded when she said she hadn't had any! I went back to my grandma's house and she explained the truth to me. I bet that little girl's mother was surprised when her little girl asked her about operations!

After watching the movie Matilda, I believed that I had the power to move things with my eyes, like her. All I had to do was learn to use them. I would always try to lift a spoon or tip over a cup just by looking at it. I even tried thinking about all the times my parents were "mean" to me to bring out the power (Matilda did that too)!
